Magento today announced the formation of the new Magento Association.

For nearly a decade, Meet Magento has organized and hosted Magento-focused events around the world, bringing community members together to learn, share and collaborate on commerce problems. The first Meet Magento was organised - by me - in Januari 2009 and the 10th edition will be organized this year on June 1st. Today Magento announced that it will partner with the Meet Magento Association and the entire global Magento community to create a new Magento Association. The Magento Association will be dedicated to fostering and supporting technology projects, community events, training and education, and online collaboration. Magento will work with the Community to finalize the structure and strategy to launch the new Association before the end of the year.
